Few subjects have caused more stress and anxiety for students in the college search process than standardized testing. Students and parents have worried about the SAT and the ACT and the implications of the scores made on these examinations. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been tremendous challenges for students in taking an ACT or SAT. I shared some perspectives today in a webinar on how standardized testing has traditionally been used in college admissions and what the sudden move to test optional approaches by some colleges will mean.
